Jerome Burgess
Director
Jerome, the driving force behind Burgess Law, is more than just a lawyer; he’s your dedicated legal champion.
Armed with a Bachelors of Law and Masters of Law from the University of Waikato, he was admitted to the bar in 2011.
With over a decade’s experience at a prestigious Hamilton law firm, Jerome is a sought-after expert in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Immigration and Employment Law.
In April 2022, he founded Burgess Law, driven by a passion for excellence and a desire to treat all clients with dignity, respect, and compassion. A member of the NZ Law Society, Pacific Lawyers Association, and J. Reuben Clarke Law Society, Jerome ensures your legal needs are met with precision and care.

Jennae Matenga
Senior Solicitor
Jennae started her law journey in the beautiful Bay of Plenty where she gained experience in a range of areas of law, with a primary focus on property law. She received a Bachelors of Law from the University of Waikato and was admitted to the bar in 2017.
Recently, her family relocated back to Hamilton and she had been practicing at a Hamilton law firm in the area of Māori land and Te Tiriti and is excited to continue learning in the Waitangi Tribunal space. Fluent in Te Reo Māori, Jennae embraces her culture both in and out of the office.
Jennae is a member of the NZ Law Society, Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa and the J. Reuben Clarke Law Society.
When she is not practicing law, she enjoys quality time with her husband and four tamariki, baking, or playing sports.
